A Very Merry Dorm Christmas to You! Oh What's That? It's Only December 1st?

About sometime ago some of my suite mates and I decided to do a secret santa. All of us were very good about this and purchased our gifts without telling anyone who they were for. Since we've swapped gifts already I can share that my secret santa giver and receiver was Hannah. Here's a recap:
After decorating the little bitsy cute tree, we posed in front of it. From the left: Me, Hannah, Sarah, Arica (standing) and Julie (who doesn't actually live with us, but we still like her and put her name on our door.) Grayson took the picture, of course.

Then we started with the gift giving. Hannah made me a sweet snowflake holiday christmas thing. It made me wink. She gifted me a blue hoodie that has full furry lining. Not just the sleeves, not just the body, not just the hood, but all of it! I was so happy.
Next Sarah gave Arica a cookbook, which Arica was thrilled (or maybe frightened?) about. Sarah's gift was from Julie. Julie is obsessed with those penguins, hence the gift bag.

The gift was some nice beady necklaces, and a very dramatic golden tree hat! Just kidding, the tree hat is a decoration, I believe.Hannah then received her gift. I made her a card of a menorah with christmas tree lights (she's one of those hybrids). She enjoyed it.
Here she is smirking at the fact that I gave her forgetful postit notes. She "will make lot's of lists."
I also gave her a little journal with owls on it (owls are to her what penguins are to Julie).
Arica then gave her gift to Julie. It was wrapped in Chinese food menus, maybe because Julie is half Chinese, but I'd like to think that Arica is better than that (please, note the playful jest in my tone).
The gift was fancy chai tea and a loose-leaf tea steeper. Super nice.
Then Arica, being her momly self, told us to "get in bed now, or you won't get anything but coal for christmas." We all started for our beds, but remembering that she is, infact, not our mother, we continued to hang around.
And what a jolly (read: early) christmas it was!

  1. i believe the plural of "penguins" does not contain n "e".

  2. Thank you for your attention to the English language. I have fixed the 'e' problem. Interestingly enough, my spell check did not pick up penguines the first time.

also thank you about your complement about my writing.
